If you start reading this book, mel siff supertraining only real limitation superhraining become blatantly obvious. Fortunately, it’s actually not mel siff supertraining bad as the two author’s previous collaboration, Special Strength Training Manual for Coaches, which was so bad that the information on one page actually directly contradicted the information on the next, but it does make for a difficult read.
He is more widely recognized as the man who pioneered Plyometric Training. Verkhoshansky and Siff are also sometimes a little too ‘scientific’ for a casual coach, using terminology like ‘the motor apparatus’ instead of simply saying the supeetraining or ‘arm’. There is lots and lots of information here. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read.

Every page read made me a better coach. This may sound ridiculous, but one of the things I found made this book a slow read other than the fact it is mel siff supertraining scientific, is the small font and the general size of it.

Supertraining is the most comprehensive book ever written on strength training for sports. It can also get a bit annoying when the book mel siff supertraining something along the lines of ‘the author found that plyometrics Supertraining has been published an updated over nearly two decades. None of it is applicable to your training. Even with it’s weaknesses, it has indeed earned it’s unofficial title of “The Bible”. Having said that, I haven’t read Verkoshansky’s latest version, and, with Siff passing away in RIPsome things from what I recall of when I read it a while ago are outdated. Want to Read saving…. But any strength coach should be familiar with its principles and as a reference it is invaluable.
